Faithful God of Moses

I cannot tread a step

Unless Thou goest before me!

Thy glory'd bring quick death

Unless I be hidden in Thee!

For the LORD is a fire consuming,

Yet upon thousands showeth mercy.

The guilty hidest not from His gaze,

Yet He abundantly forgiveth iniquity.

If left to mine own wisdom,

Oh, the idols I'd carve!

Without Thy steadfast provision,

In the wilderness I'd surely starve!

Despite this lustful, wand'ring heart

That committeth such cosmic adultery,

Thou remainest steadfast to Thy covenant.
